| Vanakkam all: Being originally from Pune (Poona), Mah, India this time of the year is spent going around the street corners admiring the various installations glorifying Lord Ganesha. We are now in the window of those 10 days of festivities which will culminate on the 17th with the Ganapathy visarjan. This may be a good time for families to spend sometime to read about the festivities around this event as practiced in India. A short read is available at this link. The events committee and LOTUS leadership is working hard on planning our Diwali event. Even as they finalize the participant list and the various entertainment segments, please block the evening of November 3rd if you would like to attend. Details on the venue with timings and recommended entry prices will be forthcoming before the end of the month. The Leadership is also exploring opportunities for our members to volunteer in community events. We will be doing a monetary donation to the Aloha Foodbank shortly. We welcome additional ideas and participation in these events from our community members of all age groups. | Temple Activities – March 15th, 2024 Our monthly pooja will start promptly at noon on the 15th. We hope to finish the pooja at 2 pm. Tomorrow sponsorship of the Pooja and the lunch to follow is by the Kumar ohana (Supriya and Sudhir). Hope to see you all there. We are also soliciting some volunteers who have a some flexibility with their time at the end to help with clearing up and packing of the tents and pooja items and delivering it to the Balaraman residence. |
