Newsletter – May 2023
May is here and we are transitioning from Spring to Summer. This is typically graduation season. We as a family had the honor of going to the Lei ceremonies associated with the High School Graduation for Moanalua School. Brought back some nostalgic memories. It was great to see the graduates smothered in leis and of course the traditional school colors and the ever present candy lei – a signature of Hawaii. Let us celebrate the success of all the graduates who will be preparing fervently for the next phase of their life starting either this summer or fall. From our own organization we have had eventful two months. On April 7th, we were dazzled by the Rao family to a grand display of Kuchipudi dance in Mililani. The 90 minute program which also featured some local talent was a wonderful treat for us. We had about 75 attendees for the event. You can view the video of the event courtesy of the artists on our website. We also celebrated our Founder’s and Volunteer appreciation event on May 13th. We had about 80 participants and got great feedback on our activities. Photographs from the event are posted on our website. Please continue to be on the lookout for announcements of upcoming events on our website. Please also feel free to provide input or suggestion either directly to one of us in leadership or as comments through our website. Stay safe and have a wonderful summer. V. Balaraman President |
