Newsletter – March 2023
| LOTUS is starting 2023 with a renewed vigor and hope that the community will share our enthusiasm and join us on this journey. In the time frame between March and May we anticipate having three events and hope that many of you will make time to participate. Look for details of these events further down in the newsletter. This February and beginning of March, we have been blessed with a lot of rain. This has transformed our surroundings to lush green preparing us for a great spring to come. Even as our Schools start having their Spring Break, this is a wonderful time to venture out to do some gardening and add color to our surrounding and in the process also incorporate some physical activity into your daily routine. March 3rd was celebrated as Girl’s Day something that is still followed in Japan. This age old traditions is believed to be be part of a ritual to ward off evil spirits and to maintain health and prosperity of the daughters in the family. Let us all take this opportunity to recognize the contribution of all the women in our families throughout this month. | LOTUS UPCOMING EVENTS Holi Celebrations following the Pooja at Wahiawa Temple on March 19th. Community cooked lunch at 2.15 pm at Kaala Neighborhood Park, Wahiawa followed by Play with colors, water and balloons. Please click here for details and if planning to join us RSVP as we would like to get an accurate count for the food.  Music of India – An evening of Kuchipudi Dance interspersed with Carnatic music on April 7th at Mililani Rec Center #3 at 7 PM. ticket sales for the event are also open.  Founder’s Day and Volunteer Recognition: We are planning this event in early May and hope all of our supporters and volunteers will be able to join us. Details will be forthcoming. |
| Temple Activities – March 19th, 2023 Our monthly pooja will start promptly at noon on the 19th. We hope to finish the pooja at 2 pm so that we can have our lunch following this and begin the Holi festivities by 3 pm. Hope to see you all there.  |
