Newsletter – February 2025
| This year has been off to a very eventful start. In some ways all of us are trying to get our bearings in a very unfamiliar beginning to the New Year. In some ways this has been the reason for this delayed publication. This will be a very short newsletter primarily with some updates and information about our activities planned for the next month. I hope to get another update for you early in March. On the local front, would like to share a Community Voices post by Dr. *** in the Civil Beat proposing a solution for a better approach to landfill management. Please do read his write up at this link.. February is a month celebrating relationships and health. Hope you all took this seriously. Valentine’s Day, a Western tradition is a wonderful way to catch up with loved one and I hope that each one of you was able to spend quality time with someone near and dear to you. February is also a month celebrating wellness – especially Heart Health. Many in our community participated in the Annual Great Aloha Run/Walk on President’s Day. I encourage all of you to incorporate at least 30 minutes of moderately brisk walk 3 times/week into your rooutine ebfore the end of the month. We will celebrate Mahashivaratri at the Wahiawa Shiva Temple on Tuesday the 25th. Please try and attend. Please also be on the lookout for more information about Holi celebrations in March. Information should be forthcoming in early March. There is still a lot of respiratory infections around in the community. Please continue to exercise personal caution in minimizing the risk of spread of these infections. Warm aloha, V. Balaraman President |
| Wahiawa Shiva Temple Activities – February 25th, 2025 Mahashivaratri Pooja will start at the Temple around noon. Following the pooja, we will have a community potluck at the temple. For anyone who is able to take a few hours off, this will be a great opportunity to participate in a mid-week pooja. |
