March 2021 Activities at the Wahiawa Shiva Temple

Dear LOTUS Ohana:
     I am writing this short e-mail to you because of special events which occur this month and LOTUS always plans events around them.

MAHASHIVRATRI POOJA
March 11, 2021 at noon – Temple premises on California Ave in Wahiawa
     Dr. Bhawuk will be performing this pooja and we would like to encourage individuals interested in providing abhishekam items to drop them off by the start of the pooja at 12 noon to avoid disappointment. We continue to encourage physical distancing with only 10 people at the temple at any given time but there is ample space around the temple by the sidewalk to accommodate visit to the temple.  Based on people willing to stagger their visit to the temple, we will try and keep the pooja alankar until 5 PM that day for individuals or families to visit. Typically the main pooja will finish around 2-2.30 PM.  Om Namah Shivaya.

REGULAR TEMPLE POOJA 
March 21, 2021 at noon – Temple premises on California Ave in Wahiawa
     Dr. Bhawuk will be performing regular pooja on that day.  Traditionally this is the day on which LOTUS sponsors the HOLI celebrations at the adjacent park.  We had plans to have an event if we could procure permission for use of the Park from City and County.  As of now this is not being permitted and regretably we are unable to have an event for a second year in succession.  The actual HOLI is on March 29th this year.

APRIL PREVIEW
     Typically the April Pooja is combined with annual appreciation of lotus volunteer and members.  We still hope to have a Bento lunch organized for this event and the exact format will be dictated by the Ciity and County Rules.  During the month of April, we will also be conducting our annual elections. Details will be out in the March Newsletter coming out next week.
